Slacker!

So, I've been slacking on my blogging responsibilities lately. No really good reason, other than just keeping up with the ins and outs of daily life.
We all had a great Christmas and New Year. I was horrible about taking pictures (too busy helping/watching the boys open their gifts), so I don't have any from the holidays to upload.
We celebrated D's birthday on the 6th with my parents, Jacob's parents, and Aunt Kelly and Uncle Jon. This year was the first year where he wasn't sick for his birthday party!! Yay!
Adler continues to be a joy...and a handful! 😊 He cut all four of his top teeth at the same time and it looks like his molars are working their way in (his gums are VERY puffy). He's not walking yet but is getting a little more brave when he lets go of things. We can't believe how fast his first year is going by!
On exciting house news, we accepted an offer on the house!!! We're a little nervous and will be until closing (scheduled for March 15th). We're anxious for this chapter to close and move on, but are the tiniest bit sad about saying goodbye to our first home. We hope it brings as many wonderful memories to this couple as it did us.

Christmas trees!!!

On December 3rd, we loaded up the boys and went to Miller's Tree Farm to pick out our Christmas tree. We haven't had a big tree up in 3 years and the fact that we got a real one is a bonus!! We had such a great experience an I'm looking forward to making this a Payne family tradition. It's crazy to think that next year, Adler will be walking!

Our friend/neighbor came down a few weekends ago and took some family pictures. It was a terribly windy day (most days are windy but this day was CA-RAZY windy!) but we didn't know when we'd be able to get us all together (her photography biz is really picking up which I can totally understand...she's awesome!) so we just went with it. She got some amazing shots that I cherish!

We're doing it...

I signed up a couple months ago to run the Indy mini with a good friend of mine and Jacob has agreed to run it with us. I'm hoping that by putting this out there, or actually typing it and thinking about it, it will motivate me to get my rear end in training gear!! I have the desire...just slacking on following through. So, this is me dedicating myself to getting back into shape and stop dragging my feet! No more excuses, I'm putting my foot down!!

Some days I can wait for Adler to get big and get Dietrich back for all the things he's done to or with him...but I'm pretty sure I can wait until all the fighting starts! By the way, my boots are out because Dietrich thought the went well with HIS outfit today.

Adler's 7 months!!

Seriously, a) can this kid get any cuter and b) where oh where has the time gone?!? Cannot believe my baby is 7 months old!!
